Why we Founded MindDEP
Anna Gitana and Kate Mathers co-founded MindDEP because they saw the pressing need for solutions to help leaders stay productive, innovative, and calm in the face of never-ending ‘to do’ lists, flooding inboxes, and increasingly challenging demands in a highly competitive world; solutions for leaders who are consistently under stress, yet need to lead with clarity, agility and cognitive flexibility in order to cope with the complex and demanding 21st century working environment.
With Kate’s 15+ years of mindfulness training experience in both the public and private sector, together with Anna’s 10+ years of experience as a wellness coach interpreting scientific data around stress and stress recovery, they have established a unique offering for organisations looking to create measurable change.
They have both had first-hand experience of serious illness and burn out, involving lengthy hospitalisation, and understand only too well how easy it is not to notice what is happening, and to ignore the signals of the body. Yet the body is an exquisitely fine-tuned instrument that tells us what we need to know if we are awake and aware enough to listen. Kate discovered mindfulness meditation training during her illness and found it to be transformative in terms of mind-body relationship, and also daily mindfulness practice to be far-reaching in terms of reducing stress and regaining health and wellbeing. She became a trained MBSR teacher and in more recent years has developed expertise in both the science and neuroscience of mindfulness, particularly as it applies to stress reduction, leadership and wellbeing. MindDEP founders Anna & Kane are experts in Mindfulness & Wellness and together create a unique scientifically based mindfulness training program.
Kate has been creating and delivering mindfulness training since 2002. She has been trained by world class leaders including Jon Kabat-Zinn and Saki Santorelli. Kate is Principal Mindfulness Trainer at IECL teaching the gold standard MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction).
Anna is an Executive Wellness Coach, she uses contemporary scientific measuring technologies together with innovative nutrition and lifestyle practices to improve your wellness and performance.
